About Raising MathMinds

We are building a world where math is not feared, but embraced - where every child grows into a confident, curious problem-solver with the support of a math-postive home.

Hi, I’m Sam.

I’m a Middle and High School Math Teacher with 13+ years of experience, and I've worked with students across all ability levels—from foundational skills to advanced math courses. No matter the grade, one thing has always stood out: math anxiety and limiting beliefs are far too common, in both kids and parents.

I became a math teacher because I’ve been there myself. Math didn’t always come easy for me—I struggled with self-doubt, anxiety, and the fear of being "bad at math." That’s why I’m so passionate about helping families replace dread with confidence and create a different kind of math experience.

Why I started Raising MathMinds:

Raising MathMinds was created to help families build a math-positive home, where kids develop the confidence, perseverance, and mindset they need to thrive. I know math can feel overwhelming—for kids and parents alike—which is why I focus on practical, encouraging, and emotionally supportive ways to make math part of everyday life.

Our Mission:
  • Empower parents to confidently guide their child’s math journey.

  • Help students build a growth mindset that turns mistakes into learning opportunities.

  • Offer engaging, accessible resources that spark curiosity and make math doable.

  • Create a foundation of emotional safety, where children see themselves as capable, resilient math thinkers.

What Makes Us Different:

We don’t just teach math—we transform how families experience it. We understand the emotional side of math, and we believe every family can build a strong, confident math identity. Through a supportive community, hands-on tools, and encouraging guidance, you’ll gain the confidence to become your child’s greatest math ally.

I can’t wait to connect with you and support your family’s math journey—together, we can grow confident MathMinds at home.
